  7.      Just put the Deathground folder on your hard drive and you're ready for a life of crime!

  10. Quick Rules 
  11.             Deathground is a quick and dirty strategy game which will challenge your mind, satisfy your bloodlust and be finished in time for dinner!

You control "wiseguys", who are based in "hoods". The more 'hoods you have at the start of your turn, the more guys you get. Play with up to seven players, with any mixture of human and computer players. To win, get rid of the other guys.  The more land you control the stronger you'll get. If you take a whole section of the city, you'll grow even stronger.  Today, da Bronx, tomorra da woild!  I meanz da whole woild, from Staten Island to Yankee Stadium!

To start playing, double click on the Deathground application.   A screen with a gangster in a green hat will appear -- that's Moe Green, you'll hear more about him later.  Along the bottom you'll see two options. The map menu lets you select a map to play on, the button starts the game.  For now, make sure New York is selected, then click on "New Game."

  42. The game can be played with from 2 to 7 players. Click on the check box in the "Include" column to add or remove players from the game.

  44. You can read a bio of each of the players by clicking on their thumb-nail sized picture.

  46. There are six different styles of computer players. To change a player's style, use the pull-down menus to the right of the picture. They're pretty self explanatory.

  48. You can change a player's name by clicking on the name and then entering a new one.

  50. There are also six levels of luck. For now, leave these settings as they are, unless you want to make yourself "really freakin' lucky".

  52. The check boxes on the bottom change the game, but we'll explain what they do after you've played the game once.

  54. Click on "Let's Get 'em" to start the game. When your wiseguys say, "whea ya wan' us?" you're ready to begin a life of crime.
